Alice Gessler best known as “Gram” passed away surrounded by family on September 9, 2021. Alice was born in Evansville, Indiana on August 17, 1960 to John LaForrest and Betty Colombe.
Alice was so kind, caring, and compassionate. Alice would do anything she could for anyone in need, and she was a care giver to everyone she knew. Her biggest passion was her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Alice was so funny, and did everything she could do to make her family happy. She was very crafty and an incredible decorator.
Alice will be missed by her five children; Peggy (Javier) Espinoza, Steve (Christina) Williams, Jamie Williams, Alicia (Ricky) Hartley, and Barbara (Shane) McDaniel. Also missing her are her grandchildren; Cherish Williams, Angelica Williams, Javier Espinoza, Joe Williams, Felicia Hartley, Ricki Hartley, Richard Hartley, Shantrece Williams, Desi Williams, Willie Williams, Elijah Williams, Camry (Matt) Utley, and Jasmine Birdwell. Alice is also survived by nine great grandkids, seven brothers, four sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her loving husband of thirty years Ernie Gessler and her parents.
Alice’s family would like to say a special thank you to Deaconess Hospice for providing such compassionate care at the end of her life.
