Arbin Lee Clayton, 83, went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2021. He was born on March 30, 1937 to Andy Joe and Neva (Cherry) Clayton in Madisonville, Kentucky.

Arbin has been the loving husband to Nancy for 7 years; and boy was he everything she could ever ask for. He was a wonderful Christian and was blessed with a giving heart. Arbin had attended Life Tabernacle Church for around 5 years. Pastor Eddie could always count on his “Amens!” and “Hallelujahs” to keep him encouraged during his sermon. There was no hesitation from Albin when he was being led to minister to others; sharing the message of God’s salvation with anyone at any time was something he loved to do. He was so very funny and could lift anyone’s spirits with his humor and wit. Arbin was also a truck driver for most of his life, working for different trucking companies; most recently, for Atlas Van Lines. As a young man, he was a great basketball player. He even received an athletic scholarship to play for the University of Houston, Texas. Next to the Lord, his family meant everything to him.

Arbin is survived by his wife Nancy; five children, Arbin “Butch” (Laura) Clayton Jr., Monica Lasky, Karen Taylor, Debbie Welsoh, and Terry Clayton; three step-children, Renea (Chad) Morris, Ray (Lora) Bingman, and Sherry (Scott) Bingman; two brothers, Joe Clayton and Jerry (Betty) Clayton; a sister, Joan Lutz; 22 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Preceding Arbin in passing are his parents; a brother-in-law, Donald Lutz; and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Clayton.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be given to Evansville Rescue Mission or Life Tabernacle Church.

Sunset Funeral Home will be holding visitation hours for Arbin on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 10:00am till 12:00pm with the funeral service to follow starting at 12:00pm.
