May 8, 2023 at 6:12 pmArnold was a great feller and friend to my brother and I when he and Jack lived out by Burdette Park years ago. Riding and racing our bikes down Burdette Park hill was not for sissies. It was a wonder that we survived at all. I was blessed to have taught his children while teaching at Oak Hill, and of course, all of them were so well mannered. I have nothing but good thoughts and memories of Arnold. He will always be remembered as my buddy. Jerald Jones

May 8, 2023 at 7:22 pmMy cousin Ray had a great sense of humor. I really enjoyed talking and laughing with him, especially at all the family reunions. He and Helen raised a great family, and he served his country well. He will be missed by us all.
We are sad to announce, but pleased to know, that Arnold Ray Evans of Evansville, IN went home to be with his Heavenly Father on May 6, 2023. Arnold passed away at the age of 80.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Mary Alice Leon, Lavada Osborne, Sandy Scraper and 1 brother, Jackie Evans.
Arnold attended Central High School in Evansville, IN before joining the army at the age of 19. He was stationed in Ft Bragg, NC where he met a lady who would later become his wife. After short stints at Arkla and Whirlpool, he joined the Carpenter’s Union Local 90 and was a member for over 50 years.
In Arnold’s younger years he enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing and planting big gardens full of produce. He loved taking his grandchildren on tractor rides around the garden. He always liked playing cards with his family, even up until the time he could only play a couple of rounds at a time. Arnold was a hardworking generous man who was always up for the challenge of working on his own cars, lawnmowers, tractors and house. Arnold was always good for a laugh, even during his sickness
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in Arnold’s honor to the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville.
The family would like to thank all of the nurses and doctors who assisted in his care.
