Candace J. “Candy” Dance, 70, went to be with her heavenly Father on May 19, 2022. She was born on August 2, 1951, to Raymond and Martha Ayers in Evansville, Indiana.
Candy was a loving wife and mother. She began attending First Baptist Church at a very young age and has been a member now for 60 years. She graduated Harrison High School with the Class of ’69. She worked at St. Mary’s for over 20 years until retirement but continued to work because she just loved her job so much. Candy traveled several times to Florida with her family and enjoyed visiting the West Coast that left behind many fond memories. Above all she loved her family and will be missed greatly.
She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Martha Ayers and grandparents Raymond Sr. and Grace Ayers.
Candy is survived by her loving husband James Dance; children Brennan (Theresa) Dance, and Kendra (Bryan) Wagner; Grandchildren Averie, Curtis, and Michael; brother Michael (Julie) McClarney; and dear friend Donna Memmer; Candy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
The family would like to give a special mention to her church family at First Baptist Church for all of their prayers, love and support during this most difficult time. Candy’s family would also like to send a very special thank you to the St. Vincent’s ICU team.
Visitation will be from 4pm until 7pm on Monday May 23rd and will begin again Tuesday at 10 am until the time of service at 11am on May 24, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home with a burial to directly follow at Sunset Memorial Park. There will be a reception to follow at North Park Wesleyan Church 3360 N. First Ave for all friends and family to attend.
