Catherine Strong, 97, went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2020. She was born on June 21, 1923 to Thomas and Alpha Hart in New Haven, Illinois.
Cathy was very uplifting and encouraging. She had such a strong faith and loved to share it with everyone. When she was younger, she taught Sunday school. She was a wonderful soprano singer in the church choir. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Cathy was very creative. She made jewelry and painted birdhouses. She also enjoyed playing cards and golf. She was a VFW member. Cathy was a very stylish and organized woman. She loved her family dearly.
Cathy is survived by her daughters Peggy Dobbs and Marlyn (Don) Strickland; her grandchildren Eddie Dobbs, Donita (Keith) Fuelling, Steven (Melissa) Dobbs, Tina Holtzclaw, Kathy (Daniel) Brockman, Pam (Kevin) Kruse, Tim (Donna) Strickland, Teresa (Chad) Morris, Tony (Dawn) Strickland, and Jamie Holtzclaw; her many great-grandchildren; her many great-great grandchildren; her many great-great-great grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents; her sons James Holtzclaw and Frenchiot Holtzclaw; her granddaughter Kelly Holtzclaw; her siblings Clyo Hart and Leo Hart.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 26th at Sunset Funeral Home with a burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
