Forrest “Van” Chelsea VanZant, 79, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021. He was born on September 27, 1942 to Harmon and Lucille (Clifford) VanZant in New Haven, IL.
Forrest was a mechanic and a small business owner for over 40 years. He also proudly served his country in the Army during Vietnam for 2 years. Forrest was known for his love of cars specifically racecars. He was always working on a car or watching drag races with his wife, Betty. In addition, Forrest loved spending time with his family, especially, his grandchildren. He will deeply be missed by all his loved ones.
Forrest was preceded in death by his parents.
Forrest is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty (Cassutt) VanZant; his sons, Jay (Sarah) VanZant and Chelsea (Denise) VanZant; 6 grandchildren, Ryann VanZant, Addison VanZant, Mason VanZant, Allison VanZant, Kaitlyn Ashby, and Emily (Aaron) Goebel; brother, Dick VanZant of Florida; nieces, Tracy and Kelly.
There will be no services at this time.
