Gary Leon Johnson, a Friend, Uncle and “Grampa” to my kids.
We met Uncle Gary in 2004 and introduced to us by Maricar’s (my wife) mother Maria. A big handsome man with one prosthetic leg. He travelled more than a thousand miles (from North America to Asia) to see Maria. Everybody at home is excited to meet the man.
During his stay in the Philippines, he introduced to us his family – his son Eric, his granddaughter Emily and Elisa, his grandson Ethan and Evan. We remember his stories them and how he love them so much. And every time a new family member will come he will introduce them to us and send pictures of them.
When he is home, he still send us updates about his family particularly his grandchildren. He is very proud of them. Ariane, our eldest child, is the one closest to her Grampa. Needless to say, the she is the most affected one among us.
We empathize with Uncle Gary when Eric lost Ethan. Uncle Gary empathize with us too when we lost our youngest daughter Janerica. We are grateful to all the things Uncle Gary had done for her.
We sadly accepted the news about the ambulance picking him from his home and bringing him to the hospital. And tears fall from our eyes when we heard the news about his conditions.
Today, instead of mourning, we celebrate the life of Uncle Gary. May he rest in peace and be united with his Maker.

    With love and respect,

    Eric, Maricar, Ariane and Enric
