Gene Robert Rommel of Paris, TN, formerly of Evansville, IN, passed
from this life on October 12, 2021, at the age of 90.
Gene graduated from Reitz High School and served in the U.S. Air
Force. He delivered milk for Prairie Farms and, upon his retirement,
worked for Crescent City Security providing security at Ivy Tech and
Deaconess Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Wanda; son,
Russ; parents, Fred and Clara Rommel; and brother Bill Rommel.
Gene leaves behind to cherish his memory one daughter, Sandra (John)
Austill of Panama City, FL; daughter-in-law, Kathy Rommel of
Evansville, IN; sister, Charleen Collinsworth of Paris, TN; 4
grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Per Gene’s request, the family will celebrate his life privately and
there will be no visitation or service. Interment will be in Sunset
Memorial Gardens.
