August 23, 2020 at 9:49 pmGlen, Deanna & family,
We are so very sorry for the loss of your mom. I know that you will all miss her dearly, but I know that my Mee Maw will be so very glad to see her. Prayers for you all.
Georgia Stover, 91, passed away on August 18, 2020. She was born on December 11, 1928 to George and Ethel Lamb in Evansville, Indiana.
Georgia spent most of her life working as an executive secretary. She retired from the Vocational Rehab Department at Evansville State Hospital after 27 years. She was of the Baptist faith. Georgia was an avid reader and a wonderful dancer when she was younger. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved them very much.
Georgia is survived by her children Deanna (Bill) Gordon and Glen (Cathy) Stover; her grandchildren Jeffrey (Samantha) Vinson, Leslie (Greg) Moore, Tina Gordon, William Gordon, Claire (Chris) Patmore, Reed Stover, Haley (Tucker) Mattingly, Daniel (Krystin) McRoy, and David McRoy; her 12 great-grandchildren; her 4 great-great grandchildren; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins; her ex-daughter-in-law Janice Stover; and her lifelong best friend Mary Bell Smith McCurdy.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. Monday, August 24th at Sunset Funeral Home with a burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or Howell General Baptist Church.
Glen and Deanna would like to invite all friends and family of our mother to a very informal outdoor box lunch meal following Monday‘s services. It will be held near the gazebo in the Evansville State Hospital Park on Lincoln Ave.
Our guests are asked to bring lawn chairs so that we can properly socially distance ourselves. We are ordering individual box lunches and we need to know how many people are going to attend. Please RSVP to 812-477-5316 no later than Saturday, August 22.
