   We are so sorry for your loss. We will miss seeing Jack in church. Tom was always surprised how strong his handshake was! Tom’s dad (Raymond) was Jacks cousin and Raymond, his siblings and his mom lived with Jack and his family for a while when Raymond dad deserted the family during the depression. Raymond was always very grateful to “Aunt Lydia” for taking them in when they had nowhere else to live. Rest In Peace Jack. We will always love and miss you.

   Uncle Jack, I have so many wonderful childhood memories of our families over the years back home. The huge BBQ’s, holidays, bowling, and clabber games that You and Aunt Henry spent with Mom, Dad, Shaun and I have always been some of my fondest memories I have growing up, and that I strive to replicate. I still remember a rainy sloppy day at your house when I was maybe 11 or 12 years old playing football outside, while everyone was inside playing cards and cooking something wonderful, like chicken and dumplings…It still is one of my fondest childhood memories. I also remember the funny times, like the plunger incident with the hallway bathroom, and the homecomings I had coming home from wherever I was in the world to Aunt Henry’s special Chad’s chicken and dumplings. I was truly lucky to have a family such as ours that was so close in both proximity and loving times. I can’t say enough how awesome it was to always talk with you and Pa Paw and hear of the hard work you both put into life, and I will always have that same drive as a backbone to my own family values here in NC. It’s always hard for me to say goodbye as I’ve had to do so much of it over the past few years, but I am comforted by the thought of you, Aunt Henry, Me Maw and Papaw, sitting up in Heaven partying and having some of that awesome home cooked food I always talk about. I’ll be sure to tell Caden and Sophia about you tonight, and wish you gods speed.

   (Jackie), Tricia, Jerry, Kimberly, I’m so sorry for your loss. Uncle Jack honestly was one of my very favorite people to be around. I can truly say that I’m a better person having had uncle Jack in my life.
