You gave no one a last farewell, nor ever said good-bye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why. A million times we will miss you. If love alone could have saved you, You never would have died. In life we loved you dearly. In death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else can fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you, they day God took you home. We will meet again someday I know in a better place. I thank God He made you our brother! While you were here on Earth!

Dear Marguerite, Michaelle, David, Nelie, Youri and the Delva Marcelin family,

I am so sorry for your the loss of your beloved husband, dedicated father and a good friend and family member.

When I stayed over your house in Haiti, I remember how Paul would be up earlier for work then spending time with you all in the evening. He was such a kind person.

May the memory of his care, love and commitment to his family and community keep you, strength you and comfort you.

    Sincerely, Annie Lubin and family

Jean Paul Marcelin, born in Jacmel on September 29, 1945, died on December 19, 2022, at 1:38 am in the Deaconess Hospital.

GOD GAVE AND GOD TOOK AWAY.

Married with Marguerite Delva Marcelin hence 42 years of common life, they had 4 children, Michaelle, David, Nelie, Youri, and 2 grandsons Damar and Damian.

“Papi Polo” as we like to call him worked as a teacher, an outstanding trainer, builder, and great researcher in hands-on approach. He led a life of integrity and was jovial. He was endowed with a strong social and spiritual character.  He was the man of everyone. He also led a nomadic life, sometimes in Haiti and sometimes abroad. When he retired, he created his own business.

He was struck by a stroke in November 2020, followed by several attacks, the disease then took over and he passed away at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville on December 19.

WE, therefore, extend our sympathy to the parents, friends, and allies gathered in the precincts of this mausoleum.

That his soul rest in peace.

Thank you.

Services for Jean Paul will be on Friday, January 6, 2023, held at Sunset Funeral Home’s Shepherd Chapel Mausoleum. Visitation will start at 12pm with the service to immediately follow at 1pm.
