Jerry Willard McLain, 78, passed away on August 29, 2020. He was born on June 20, 1942 to Wallace Dale and Claudia Rose McLain in Galion, Ohio.
Jerry was a very creative handy man. He enjoyed working on and renovating houses. His passion for construction began at 13 years old when he built a log cabin with his grandfather that is still standing today. He loved projects and worked on several family houses. Jerry was also a very talented painter. He worked for PPG for 43 years. He loved spending time with his family and passing on his creative talents to his grandchildren. His knowledge, wisdom, and love flowed through his projects he shared with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his wife 50 years Linda McLain; his daughters Sheri (Shane) Russell, Sheli (Tom) Mays, Teri (Todd) Geiss, Lisa (Ray) Hall; his grandchildren Ryan Russell, Peyton Mays, Parker Mays, Lexi Geiss, and Cruz Geiss; his siblings Mike (Diana) McLain and Penny Shipley; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Claudia McLain.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, September 4th at Sunset Funeral Home. A service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 5th at Sunset Funeral Home with a burial to follow. Friends and family can visit from 12 p.m. until time of service on Saturday at 1 p.m.
