I love you Kathy! I will never forget the fun times we always had. Like when we had matching Camaro’s. My was blue and yours was green. We would ride to work together and when you drove the T-tops were in. But, when I drove they were out. And one day it was a good thing that you drove. Because a goose did his business all over your car!! If we were in mine we would of had to go back home and change! We had a good laugh over that one. My condolences to Pat, Danielle, and Logan.

I worked with Kathy many years ago at Atlas Van Lines (mostly in the Graphics department) – she was a lot of fun.
My condolences to family and friends – she was a very special person.

I am so sorry for this great loss. I didn’t know Kathy well, but I know what a great friend she was to Julie.

Kathy Leann Waters, 53, passed away on March 5, 2020, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on June 22, 1966, to Charles Lindle and Thelma Mae Hayden in Evansville, Indiana.

Anyone who knew Kathy or even only met her a few times would attest to her generosity, selflessness and gentle nature. Above all she loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and baby sister. She gave all of herself to her family, friends and career. Besides spending time with family and friends, Kathy’s favorite pastime was shopping with her sister-in-law (and best friend), Julie Brown. And when she shopped, she always bought for others, whether a gift for her grandchildren, her employees or the person shopping with her. Kathy will be dearly missed by those who were lucky enough to know her. But we take comfort in knowing that she is with our Heavenly Father, an angel watching over us all until we are rejoined in paradise.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 26 years Patrick Waters; her children Danielle Ott and Logan Lefler; her grandchildren Abby and Aiden Ott; her siblings Eddie (Jodi) Hayden, Sharon Hayden, Karen (Peter) Tavlin, and Chris (Heidi) Hayden; and many loving nieces and nephews. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her stepmother, Helen.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 10th, at Sunset Funeral Home. Services will begin at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11th, at Sunset Funeral Home with a burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends and family can visit from 10 a.m. until time of service.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Cypress Grove Nursing Home, especially nurses Megan Hoppel and Par Tamang, for their loving care for Kathy and amazing support for her family. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Linda E. White Hospice Center.
