Larry Wayne Rickard, 85, passed away on April 23, 2020. He was born on December 12, 1934 to Otto and Elsie Rickard in Evansville, Indiana.
Larry was a barber for 60 years. He started his career when he was young with his father. He owned his own barber shop called Larry’s Barber Shop that celebrated its 60th anniversary on the news. Larry loved being outdoors. He was an avid hunter. It wasn’t just the hunting that was so important to him, it was the value of the time he spent hunting with his friends and family. He built his own home at Kentucky Lake that his family called their second home. Above all else, Larry loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather.
Larry is survived by his wife of 64 years Doraine Rickard; his children Jeff (Lynn) Rickard, Julie Adams, and Karla (John) Adams; his grandchildren Amber Adams, Jason (Paula) Adams, Jeff Adams, Jordan (Aby) Adams, Victoria “Tori” Rickard, and Lucinda “Luci” Rickard; his great-grandchildren Evelyn Adams, Elijah Adams, and Ethan Adams; his sister Joan (George) Jordan; his sister-in-law Judy Rickard; his nieces and nephews Michael (Eric) Rickard, Karen (Todd) Wathen, Kevin (Tiffany) Jordan, and Kaleigh Rickard; and a host of hunting buddies and barber shop cronies.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Michael Rickard.
