Merrie (Jane) Russler, 73, passed away on February 18, 2019. She was born on February 5, 1946 to Harold and Mary Koehler in Evansville, IN.
Jane graduated from North High School and Ivy Tech with and Associates degree. She also took a class at Trinity Bible College where she proofread scriptures for the book of Romans for Dr. Brooke. Jane loved to sew. She took classes at Sew Tech and had clabber card club parties. She loved her family very much and her dog Lady. One of her favorite things to do was to go to the movies with her grandson Dustin.
Jane is survived by her husband of 42 years, Bill Russler; her daughters Jamie Benefiel of Columbia, S.C. and Julie Lerner of Louisville, KY; two step-daughters Sally (Jerry) Corbett of Virginia and Margaret (Roger) Burch of Sidney, OH; grandchildren Dustin Branstrater, Kelsey Iacampo, and Alexis Lerner; step-grandchildren Taylor Corbett, Rhiannon Corbett, Jeremy Corbett, Ashley Burch; siblings Bob, Bud Koehler and Dee Garrett of Evansville, Tom Koehler of El Paso, TX, and Charles Koehler of Travelers Rest, SC.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents; daughter Jodie Simmons; and step-grandson Kyle Burch.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 23rd at Sunset Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Christian Fellowship Church.
