His dedication to his faith and church was immeasurable. I am in awe of his service to his country as a WWII veteran. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. They were both very loving and gentle members of the church there and I have no doubt that they will both have their reward in Heaven when their time here on earth is done.

Roy D. Lee, age 95, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at North River Health Campus with family by his side.
Roy was born on June 23, 1927 in McLeansboro, Illinois, and was the fourth of twelve children born to John and Flossie Lee. He is preceded in death by his parents and five siblings. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Minnie (Spilmon) Lee; his children Stephan (Terri) Lee of Lawrenceville, GA, Susan Lee, John Lee, and Judy Wannemuehler, all of Evansville, Indiana; his grandchildren Chris Lee, Erin Han, Ryan Lee, Kari Neaveill, Lauren Espinosa, Kasey Goedde, Lindsey Berkesch, and Matthew Wannemuehler; and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings Laura Irvin, Phyllis Bond, Robert Lee, Doyle Lee, Marilyn Smith, David Lee, and many nieces and nephews.
Roy was a World War II Army Veteran. After being honorably discharged, he married Minnie and moved to Evansville. His career included work as an engineer for C. & E. I. Railroad, ownership and management of Lee-Way Movers, and as a foreman at Pavement Sealing Company. After retirement, he and Minnie spent many years traveling in their RV to volunteer at churches and children’s homes across the country as part of a group called Sojourners, a mission work of the Church of Christ. They sacrificed many summers volunteering at Western Kentucky Youth Camp, where he was honored as a lifetime member of the Board of Directors. Roy enjoyed traveling, genealogy, and spending time with his family.
But beyond these past achievements, Roy’s greatest reward was his years of service as a Treasurer, Deacon and Elder for the Washington Avenue Church of Christ. He loved his church family and served the Lord faithfully. Roy and Minnie inspired hundreds of people by their faith and service to the Lord.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 4pm-7pm at Sunset Funeral Home. On Saturday, October 8, 2022, the funeral service will be held at 10:30 am at Washington Avenue Church of Christ with visitation one hour before service begins. There will be a burial at Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Park at 1:30. Live-streaming will be offered for those attending Roy’s memorial service remotely.
