Chuck and I worked with Trina in the late 90s at the hotel. We loved her so much. She was fun, kind, and working with her was great every single time. She never had a harsh word. We will miss her but know she is flying high!

Trina J. (Barnett) Proctor, 53, passed away on June 18, 2023. She was born on February 20, 1970, to Robert and Bobbie (McDaniel) Barnett in Evansville, Indiana.

The world lost a truly beautiful, kind, bright, warrior. Trina was the absolute epitome of an overcomer and staying positive amidst so much pain and so many hurdles through the past 8 years, and she always made sure you knew she loved you every single time you talked. She said if you’re not telling them, you should be!) She had an unspeakable zest for the smallest things in life and enjoying the moment that we can only aspire to.

Her loved ones told her that her rainbow after the storm was coming (and that SHE truly was the storm!) While the family didn’t expect it to be this way, oh what a gift for her to no longer be in pain and reunited with Memaw and Papaw once again… Heaven has some of the absolute best now.

Although we keep looking for reasons and wishing we could’ve done more, we know God called her home, and she’s no longer suffering here on Earth. But, oh my goodness will she be missed every day, and her absence has left many hearts in pieces.

Rest easy, beautiful TT. We will see you on the other side.

Trina is survived by her children Michael Barnett and Miles Barnett; siblings Burtis Miller Jr., Gwen Fore (Frank), Melvin Miller (Judith), Crystal Labo (Lenny); “Granny” to Saige Barnett; significant other of 13 years Jeremy Lyons; nieces and nephews Melissa, Megan (Dave), Sean, Marissa, Steffen, Ryan (Mallory), Crista, Ricky, Clarissa; Dog Mom to Lucy and Sadie; and numerous extended loving family.

Trina was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Bobbie Barnett.

Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel of Peace Mausoleum.
