Dakota Sky Kaufman, 15, passed away on July 8, 2023 in Pensacola, Florida. He was born on March 26, 2008, to Robert Kaufman and Lisa (Green) Gray in Newburgh, Indiana.
Dakota was a son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He could light up any room by cracking a joke or smiling his Dakota smile. Dakota was talented in all he did. He tried his hand in many sports but wrestling, football, and basketball were his favorite. Dakota made friends wherever he went, which came as no surprise to anyone. He had a special spirit about him; he was caring, generous, funny, and kind-hearted. He loved being on the water, and Pensacola was the perfect fit for him. Dakota loved his mother, Lisa, more than anything; they had an unbreakable, close-knit, bond. Although Dakota was taken way too soon, his loving memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
Dakota is survived by his mother and best friend, Lisa Gray; father Robert Kaufman; siblings Dennis Hall (Amy Jo), Dalton Gray (Sarah), Angel Kaufman; niece Bre’Ella Rae-lynn Hall; Uncle Thomas Green and his son Zachary Green; numerous loving extended family and friends.
Dakota was preceded in death by grandparents Ray and Martha Green.
Visitation will be from 10am until the time of service at 12pm on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home.
