James David Horstman, 66, went home to be with the Lord on March 9, 2021. He was born on December 16, 1954 to Carl and Phyllis (Lampton) Horstman in Evansville, Indiana.
Dave was married to his beautiful wife Becky for 42 years. Together, they enjoyed so many things. Dave, however, had some hobbies and interests of his own. He loved to bowl; he even was part of a team in a bowling league; as well as participating in playing softball. He also spent a lot of time working on and riding his motorcycle. Dave graduated from North High School and went on to attend classes at Ivy Tech. He worked at Westech for 45 years in the electrical maintenance department. Dave was quite the handy man; he could fix just about anything. He also loved cooking and grilling. Hosting everyone for the 4th of July with food and fireworks was an event Dave looked forward to every year. He also enjoyed vacationing in Las Vegas and Panama City. Above all else, Dave loved the time he spent and the memories he made with his family.
David is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Horstman; his daughter Katy; a granddaughter, Hope McManaway; his siblings, Carla Miller, Beth (Todd) Maurer, and Robert Horstman; former brother-in-law and longtime friends, Tony (Angie) Maurer; and his many nieces and nephews, Michael, Jeff, Taylor, Madison, Justin, Allison, Kyle, James, Abby, and Ann.
Services for Dave will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home. Visitation time will begin at 10:00am with the service starting at 12:00pm. A burial at Sunset Memorial Park will directly follow. A Zoom service will be available to remote attenders.
