Nellie May Turpin, 79, of Evansville passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021. Nell had a heart full of love she shared with anyone whom she met. She had a passion for helping others. She fostered many children throughout the years. Nell enjoyed sewing, gospel music, attending church services, and reading her bible. She loved her family selflessly. Nell was truly the greatest, most forgiving and most genuine person you’d ever meet, always putting others above herself. If anyone ever needed anything, no matter who you were, she would be there, without question. She will be greatly missed, not only by her family, but anyone who knew her.

Nell is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Jerry; Her twelve children; Steve (Karin) Evans, Kim (Ron) Mangold, Sherrie (Chris) Cobb, Joe W Evans, Jr., Robert “Kenny” Evans, Becky (Rick) Johnson, Austin Turpin, Keith Turpin, Quintin Turpin, Jerry E (Courtney) Turpin, Michelle (Randy) Herring and Kathy (Don) Gray. In addition, she is survived by 27 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, 3 sisters and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family would like to thank Maygen and the entire staff on the 3900 Unit at Deaconess Hospital Midtown for the excellent care they provided while affectionately calling Nell “Mema”. The family also request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Riley’s Children’s Hospital.

Services will be private.
