    Jerry and I worked together for several years at Bally’s in the accounting department. I loved hearing updates on his kids’ lives and later, about his grandchildren. He was so proud of his family and it was a joy to hear him talk about them. He is greatly missed. Rest in peace, friend.

Jerry Dale Smith, 60, of Evansville, IN, passed away on August 1st, 2023 at Linda White Hospice House. He was born on May 18th, 1963 in Evansville, IN to Jerry Dean Smith and Brenda Kay Smith. 

Jerry attended Central High School in Evansville, IN, where he graduated in 1981. He worked as a motor mechanic at different shops including Flanders and EEMSCO Inc, for 25 years. Following his work as a mechanic, he was employed by Bally’s where he worked in shipping and receiving and accounting for 11 years. Jerry was a member of Cornerstone Assemblies of God for many years, and that is where he met and married his wife, Jo Lisa Smith, on January 25th, 1992. He also loved supporting his kids by coaching baseball and helping with their marching band boosters.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jo Lisa (Williams) Smith. His daughter, Amanda (Smith) and Robert James, and his grandchildren, Levi and Kenzie. His son, James and Tara (Mills) Smith. His parents, Jerry Dean and Brenda Kay (Agee) Smith. His brother, Kevin and Karen (Chavers) Smith. His Father-in-law Jim Williams, and preceded in death by his Mother-in-law Janice (Kissel) Williams. He is also survived by many other extended family members.

 A service to celebrate the life of Jerry Dale Smith will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, 1800 St. George Road, Evansville, IN 47711, on August 8th, 2023 at 12:00 pm with Pastor Gary Auten officiating. Burial will commence after the service at Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be held on August 8th, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.Â
