Juanita Pearl (Rhodes) Cissna, 55, passed away on June 25, 2023. She was born on November 17, 1967, in Evansville, Indiana.
Juanita graduated from Bosse High School. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 18 years. She lived in Indianapolis for 8 years prior to moving back to Evansville. Juanita loved music, she enjoyed singing karaoke and listening to Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show. She loved coloring, playing bingo, bowling, and roller skating in her spare time. Juanita was happiest with her house full of her loved ones. Juanita loved baking with her family, “if you weren’t making a mess, it wasn’t fun.” She and her children looked forward to weekends watching Disney movies together or cheering on their favorite football team. Juanita will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
Juanita is survived by her children Kayla Rhodes-Powell (Franklin Bivins) and Harley M. Cissna; grandchildren Madelin King, Vanessa Faye Rhodes; companion of over 18 years Roxy Myers; great-aunt Nancy Kessler; blended loving family Beth Ma-e (Harold), Zachary Wire, ex-husband Christopher Wire, Gary Bedner (Chauna), Claudia Vincent and her daughter Claudia, and grandchildren; and numerous loving extended family.
Juanita was preceded in death by her mother Linda Rhodes; great-aunt Diana Kessler; two sisters; and extended family Lester Floyd, Darlene Holder, Luwana Wire, and Joseph Neal Wire.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
